In the capital of Tatarstan, the awarding of the winners of the All-Russian competition of Young Traffic Inspectors of the “Safe wheel - 2019” movement took place. The closing ceremony was held at the Volga State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The competition was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan together with interested Departments and organizations. The large-scale event gathered in the capital of Tatarstan more than 500 participants - YTIs, officers of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate and teachers from 85 regions of the country.
The contest “Safe wheel - 2019” became the 38th in a row. In Kazan, the competition was held for the third time: previously, the capital of Tatarstan hosted the event in 1986 and 2006. 340 schoolboys and schoolgirls born in 2007, 2008, and 2009, winners of the regional stages of the competition united in teams of four, took part in the Safe Wheel - 2019. The team of Tatarstan as the host party performed out of competition.
Competition stages were held at the Kazan Expo international exhibition center. Participants had to struggle in individual and team standings. For three days, YTIs from all over the country found out who knew the Rules of the Road best of all and rendered first aid to injured in accidents, demonstrated the skills of safe driving a bicycle in a car park and on a specially equipped site. As part of the teams, the YTIs passed a theoretical test of knowledge of the basics of safe behavior on the road and took part in a creative competition “We are for safety on the roads of Russia”.
“I think that the All-Russian competition “Safe Wheel” brought satisfaction to everyone - participants, teachers, officers of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, organizers, numerous assistants and spectators. The fest of safe movement knowledge and skills was a success,” noted the Tatarstan’s Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin at the closing ceremony of the competition. “Today, thanks to such massive children's events as the Safe Wheel, we see that a generation of conscious, responsible, intelligent, and skilled pedestrians and drivers is on the way. The future of our roads is in safe hands,” he added.
YTIs were congratulated by Police Lieutenant-General Mikhail Chernikov, Chief of the MIA of Russia Main Directorate for Traffic Safety. “I have no doubt that each of you has put maximum efforts, showed all your talents and abilities. Therefore, today we have a lot of winners, but there are no losers. All of you are great fellows, and I am proud of you - young, active, intelligent, competent, and most importantly - caring for the problems of road safety!” he said addressing the participants of the competition.
In the individual standing among the boys, the best results were shown by participants from the Kaliningrad and Tambov regions, the Chuvash Republic. Among girls, the podium was taken by representatives of the Tyumen, Lipetsk and Tambov regions. According to the results of all competitions in the overall standings, the YTIteam from the Kaliningrad Region won the 1st place. The 2nd place was taken by young traffic inspectors of the Lipetsk Region, the 3d - of the Tyumen Region.
Guests of honor presented prizes to the winners and laureates of the competition. The teams that took the first and second places at the end of all competitive stages, will represent Russia at the European Educational Competition of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) on the study and observance of traffic rules.
