The Central District Court of the City of Kemerovo delivered its verdict in the criminal case against a 31-year old local resident. He was charged with committing a crime under part 3 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - part 5 of Article 228.1 of the RF Criminal Code “Attempted illegal production, sale or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues on a large scale”.
In September 2018, officers of the Division for Drug Control of the MIA of Russia Administration for the city of Kemerovo in the course of operational search activities detained a drug-dealer, who had set up caches with prohibited substances in the city. During a personal search, the police confiscated from him about 150 packages with prohibited smoking mixtures and synthetic “salt”. The offender received that batch of prohibited substances for further sale. In addition, during a search of his apartment, the police found more than 700 clip boxes with narcotic “mixes” prepared for distribution. He hid them in a cache under a wooden floor. The total weight of the seized drugs exceeded one kilogram. The detainee became the suspect in a criminal case and was remanded in custody at the request of the investigator.
During the investigation, the drug seller confessed. It was established that he agreed to sell the drugs, having received an anonymous offer via one of the instant messengers. He delivered the “spice” and “salt” batches to the places of “caches”. And he did it using his car, being sure that the presence of an expensive car would not arouse suspicion in drug trafficking.
After collecting the evidence base, the criminal case against the drug-dealer was sent to court, which sentenced the defendant to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment with a sentence to be served in a strict regime penal colony. The sentence came into force.
