Today in St. Petersburg, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev, took part in the closing ceremony of the Fifth Military Sports Gathering of students of the Suvorov military schools of the MIA of Russia and the Samara Cadet Corps of the MIA of Russia.
“Suvorov military schools are the pride of the Ministry. They make an invaluable contribution to the education and upbringing of future police officers - those who deliberately choose a difficult, dangerous, but so necessary for the state and society, profession,” said Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
The Chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stressed: “In recent years, thousands of Suvorov school students have become cadets of universities, academies and institutes of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. All of them successfully study, and are an example for their comrades. Hundreds - are already wearing shoulder straps of police officers”.
The Minister drew attention to the excellent results that the guys showed during the competitions: "The winners are all participants in the gathering who have shown character, courage and ability to act as a team, to come to the rescue of each other”.
The MIA Chief noted that the past gathering was a good opportunity for the guys to test themselves, their knowledge and strength, to once again get sure of the correctness of the chosen life-path. At the same time, the 10 days spent in the hero-city of St. Petersburg became for them a real school of patriotism and citizenship.
Vladimir Kolokoltsev wished the kids to persistently go to the goal set, to be worthy successors of the glory of fathers and grandfathers, of all our heroic people.
During the ceremony, diplomas, valuable gifts and cups were presented to the winners and prize-winners in the individual and team standing.
The Chief of the St. Petersburg University of the MIA of Russia, police colonel Aleksandr Travnikov handed over the banner of the military-sports gathering “Heirs of the Victory” to Police Lieutenant-General Aleksandr Simonenko the Chief of the MIA of Russia Krasnodar University, on the basis of which the next gathering will be held in 2020.
After a solemn march along the parade ground, the participants of the event accompanied by an orchestra performed the National Anthem of the Russian Federation.
