“The GA for Investigation of the MIA of Russia GA for the city of Moscow has completed the preliminary investigation of a criminal case against 18 members of an organized group aged from 27 to 45, accused of fraud against pensioners.
As previously reported, the offenders under the guise of qualified specialists of medical institutions advertised on the Internet and on the radio special devices that allegedly helped in the treatment of serious diseases. Subsequently, they sold to elderly citizens cheap therapeutic devices that did not affect the course of the disease. The material damage caused to more than one hundred citizens from various regions of the country exceeded 30 million rubles.
On this fact the General Investigation Administration of the MIA of Russia GA for the City of Moscow prosecuted the fact on the grounds of a crime, provided for by part 4 of Article 159 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation.
Officers of the ES&CC Administration of the MIA of Russia GA for the city of Moscow with the participation of the Rosgvardia detained all the members of the criminal group. Currently, with regard to 11 of the detainees placement to custody has been selected by court as the preventive measure and the others are placed under house arrest or on a subscription of their own recognizance and proper behavior.
In order to ensure the execution of the sentence in part of the civil suit, at the request of the preliminary investigation bodies, the court arrested the property of defendants worth more than 15 million rubles.
At present, the criminal case with an approved indictment has been sent to the Cheryomushkinsky District Court of the city of Moscow for consideration on the merits,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
