“Officers of the MIA of Russia GA for Criminal Investigation, together with colleagues from Moscow, detained three suspects in stealing an expensive foreign car worth over 5 million rubles from the parking of one of the capital’s large car dealerships,” said the Chief of the Administration for Information and Public Relations of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow, Colonel of Internal Service Yuri Titov.
After examining the recordings of surveillance cameras, the police found that the intruders, having penetrated into the territory of the parking lot of the dealership, had stolen, using special equipment, a new Japanese-made SUV.
As a result of operational search activities in the Moscow Region, three Muscovites aged between 42 and 50 were detained, who actively resisted the police and tried to escape. According to the available information, two of them had been repeatedly brought to criminal liability for committing property crimes. The stolen vehicle has been found in a private household of one of the suspects and will be returned to the owner at the end of the preliminary investigation.
The Investigation unit of the Internal Affairs Administration for the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative Districts of the city of Moscow prosecuted the suspects under part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Currently operatives implement measures aimed at identifying additional episodes of the suspects' criminal activity.
