The duty-unit of the MIA of Russia Inter-Municipal Division “Shumikhinsky” received a message from the rangers on illegal hunting in the territory of Starikovsky hunting area.
In the forest, the investigative team found a place of cutting wild animal carcasses and their remains. On suspicion of illegal hunting, four residents of the Shchuchansky District were detained, who without hunting permits shot two elks and one roe deer. As a result of the unlawful actions, the offenders caused especially large material damage in the amount of 840 thousand rubles to the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Kurgan Region.
During the search at the place of residence of the suspects, the police seized six guns, ammunition, a knife and an ax. In the passenger car of one of the detainees, bags with cut carcasses of wild animals were found. At the moment, the detainees have confessed in the crime.
There was initiated a criminal case on the grounds of an offense stipulated by part 2 of Article 258 of the RF Criminal Code “Illegal hunting”. The maximum penalty under this article - imprisonment for up to five years. The preventive measure selected against the suspects was the recognizance not to leave the place and to behave properly.
