Officers of the Administration for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Komi Republic detained an unemployed, previously convicted resident of Syktyvkar, born in 1982, with a large batch of N-methylephedron.
The synthetic drug weighing more than 600 grams was seized by the police in the detainee's apartment. The man admitted that he had planned to sell the drug in the city.
A criminal case was initiated in accordance with the features of a crime stipulated by part 3 of Art. 30 and part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Russian Criminal Code. The sanctions of this article stipulate a penalty of up to life imprisonment. Placement to custody was selected as the preventive measure for the suspect.
