The duty-unit of the MIA of Russia Division for the Presnensky District received a statement from the director of a watch shop located in one of the shopping centers. He said that an unknown man stole a watch of a famous brand from a shop window. The total material damage amounted to approximately one and a half million rubles.
As a result of operational search activities, Criminal investigation officers of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow together with colleagues from the MIA of Russia Division for the Arbat District, detained a suspect – a 38-year-old resident of the capital at the attempted sale of the watch on the Arbat Street. The stolen watch, as well as 13 keys for opening trade windows, were seized from the offender.
The police established the involvement of the man to another wrongful act. It was established that earlier the offender stole a mobile phone worth about 80 thousand rubles from the back room of one of the shops.
On this fact the investigators initiated a criminal case on the grounds of crime stipulated by Art. 158 of the RF Criminal Code “Theft”.
