“Officers of the Administration for Drug Control (ADC), of the MIA of Russia GA for the Novosibirsk Region, together with the FSB of Russia regional department with the power support of the special purpose unit “Grom”, suppressed the activities of an international group, whose members are accused of organizing a laboratory for the production of synthetic narcotic drugs, as well as selling them through an on-line store,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
Despite the fact that the location of the Internet resource and its operation were deeply concealed, and the communication of drug dealers with customers was carried out via messengers, investigators established a possible circle of people with access to the site administration, as well as cache-fillers and other accomplices.
“According to the available information, over 1,000 retail doses of drugs were sold by the offenders daily. The monthly income from the illegal activities exceeded 25 million rubles. The sale of narcotic drugs was carried out in the territory of the Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Kemerovo regions and in the Altai Territory, as well as in one of the neighboring CIS states,” Irina Volk added.
A criminal case under part 3 of Article 30, part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation was initiated. During the searches, the police seized from the detainees synthetic narcotic drugs with a total weight of more than 15 kilograms, as well as equipment for their production.
“Currently, charges against 18 defendants have been presented. Placement to custody was selected by court as the preventive measure for the suspects. Operational-search measures and investigative actions are underway that are aimed at establishing additional episodes of the illegal activities,” I. Volk said.
