“Operatives of the Administration for Drug Control of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow detained a 24-year-old visitor from a CIS country on suspicion of attempting to sell heroin on a large scale,” Deputy Chief of Administration of Information and Public Relations of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow Major-General of Internal Service Ekaterina Guz said.
The police received information about a guest of the city, a man who could be involved in the distribution of prohibited substances and drugs in the territory of Moscow and the Moscow Region.
As a result of operational search activities, the suspect was detained at the entrance of one of the houses on the Barvikhinskaya Street.
During a personal search, three convolutions with a substance in the form of powder and lumps were found with him. The investigation established that the seized substance was a narcotic drug - heroin weighting more than 200 grams. The remaining substance was sent for analysis.
During the inspection of the suspect’s temporary residence, police found electronic scales, a coffee grinder, packaging material, as well as numerous bundles with a substance in the form of powder and lumps weighing about 4 kilograms 250 grams. The investigation established that the seized substance was a narcotic drug - heroin.
The total weight of the seized narcotic was about 4 kilograms 450 grams.
Investigators of the IA Administration for the Western Administrative District (WAD) of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow initiated a criminal case on crime features stipulated by Article 30 of the RF Criminal Code “Preparing for a crime and attempted crime” and Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal manufacture, sale or transfer of narcotics, psychotropic substances or their analogues, as well as the illegal sale or transfer of narcotic containing plants or psychotropic substances, or parts thereof, containing narcotics or psychotropic substances”. Placement to custody was selected as the preventive measure for the suspect.
