The offenders organized a channel for the supply of drugs from St. Petersburg to Murmansk. Before sale, the drugs were “processed”, through mixing with various impurities, which made their weight larger and increased illegal profits.
The organized group was characterized by a clear distribution of the roles of its participants, as well as by high level of security in carrying out its illegal activities; a non-contact scheme was used for the drug distribution.
In total, over 41 kilograms of hashish and about 13 kilograms of amphetamine were seized as a result of the detention of the group members. The organizer of the group and two other participants entered into pre-trial agreements, in connection with which their criminal cases were arranged into separate proceedings.
On May 31, 2018, the Pervomaysky District Court passed a guilty verdict with regard to two members of the group, they were sentenced to 6 and 9 years, respectively.
The criminal case against the organizer of the group accused of committing a number of crimes in the sphere of illicit drug trafficking (part 3 of Article 30, part 5 of Article 228.1 of the RF Criminal Code and paragraphs “a, d” of part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) with an indictment approved by the prosecutor was sent to the Pervomaisky District Court for consideration on the merits.
