“Criminal investigation officers of the Russian MIA Administration for the Kaluga Region detained a man suspected of having robbed a betting shop in Maloyaroslavets,” said the MIA of Russia Spokesperson Irina Volk.
“As was ascertained, a man wearing a face mask had invaded the betting shop. Menacing the cashier with an ax and an item looking like a pistol, he had demanded to hand him over all the cash available. Then, he had broken the glass partition, got over the counter and taken the cash from the cash register,” added Irina Volk.
Policemen who arrived at the scene found the ax and some banknotes dropped by the malefactor.
The authorities initiated a criminal case based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by part 2 Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. As a result of the investigation and search operations, the police established the location of the suspect and apprehended him. That is a 40-year old native of a Transcaucasian state. The court remanded him into custody.
