“Officers of the MIA of Russia GA for Drug Control together with colleagues from the MIA of Russia GA for Criminal Investigation and the MIA of Russia Inter-District Administration ‘Pushkinskoye’ in the Moscow Region, detained an alleged member of a group that sold large quantities of drugs in the Russian Federation,” said the official representative of the Russian MIA Irina Volk.
As a result of operational search activities, police officers stopped a car in the area of 32 km of the Yaroslavl Highway, in which there was a 25-year-old citizen of one of the CIS countries working as a baker in Moscow.
“When inspecting the personal belongings of the detainee, a polymer bundle was found in his backpack, which contained more than 1.7 kg of heroin prepared for marketing,” said Irina Volk.
On this fact, the Investigation Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of theMIA of Russia Inter-District Administration “Pushkinskoye” opened a criminal case under part 3 of Article 30 and part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Remand in custody was selected as the preventive measure for the suspect.
Currently, a complex of measures aimed at identifying and detaining other participants of the group is being implemented.
