“Police officers of the MIA of Russia GA for the Volgograd Region together with colleagues from the MIA of Russia Division for the town of Mikhaylovka detained two men on suspicion of illegal storage of narcotic containing plants,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
As a result of the operational-search activities, police officers in one of the fields in the Mikhailovsky District found previously convicted local residents, who collected wild-growing drug-containing cannabis plants. Two suspects have been detained.
Three bags with freshly torn hemp weighing more than 12 kilograms were seized from the suspects. Subsequently, a policeman outside the territory of the household of one of the detainees discovered a cache where two glass containers were kept, in which there were 860 grams of dried marijuana.
On this fact the investigators initiated a criminal case on the grounds of the crime stipulated by part 2 of Article 228 of the RF Criminal Code. Remand in custody was selected as the preventive measure for the suspects.
