“Criminal investigation officers of the MIA of Russia GA for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region detained a 28-year-old citizen of one of the Central Asian countries, who tried to sell her newborn boy to a police officer guised as a buyer for 280 thousand rubles. The child is hospitalized in a medical facility,” said the official representative of the MIA of Russia Irina Volk.
On this fact, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of St. Petersburg instituted criminal proceedings on the grounds of the crime provided for in part 2 of Article 127.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Human Trafficking”. The suspect was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
