“A telephone call from an operator of one of the private security companies who reported a theft of jewelry from a jewelry store was received by the duty-unit of the MIA of Russia Administration for the city of Kyzyl,” said the official representative of the MIA of Russia Irina Volk.
“It was established that an unknown person, having smashed the front door with a sledgehammer and having penetrated the premises in the Tuvinskikh Dobrovoltsev street, collected more than 200 gold items in the package within several minutes and disappeared in a passenger car before the arrival of representatives of a private security company. The preliminary amount of the damage exceeded 2 million 800 thousand rubles,” said Irina Volk.
The criminal case was instituted on the grounds of the crime stipulated by clause “b” of part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
As a result of the operational-search measures, the police established and detained a 31-year-old previously convicted local resident, suspected of committing a wrongful act, who did not have time to leave the city. Jewelry made of gold-585 in the amount of 223 pieces were found in the courtyard of one of the houses on Bayankolskaya Street. With respect to the defendant, the court selected a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody.
