“Today, accompanied by officers of the MIA of Russia NCB of the Interpol and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, Chesnokov Aleksandr Andreevich, born in 1971, accused of committing a crime under part 3 of Article 30, item “d”, part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, was brought to Moscow from Bulgaria.
According to the investigation, the man, expecting to receive material benefits, tried together with an accomplice to sell in the Summer of 2017 in the city of St. Petersburg, a narcotic drug - cocaine weighing about 1 kilogram,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
“In April 2018, on the basis of a request by the MIA of Russia GA for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the suspect was put on the wanted list through the Interpol channels. In May of this year, he was detained in Bulgaria.
Having satisfied the request of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation for extradition, the Bulgarian competent authorities transferred the defendant to the staff of the MIA of Russia NCB of the Interpol,” added Irina Volk.
