At the end of July this year, on the playground of a residential micro-district in the city of Volzhsky, investigators noticed two men making “caches” of narcotic drugs. During the personal search, the policemen seized a few dozen bundles of heroin, which the offenders hid in their underwear, and in their rented apartment - scales, packing material and bulk drug.
In the course of further activities, the police detained two more members of the group who similarly sold heroin.
In total, the police seized from the suspects more than a kilo of the drug.
Operatives found that four natives of Central Asia arrived in the Volgograd Region in the Spring of 2018. For several months they operated as couriers in the sale of heroin in a non-contact way.
The suspects confessed to the deed. A criminal case has been initiated against them under part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illicit production, sale or forwarding of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues”. The sanction of this part of the article provides for a punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of ten to twenty years.
