“Today in St. Petersburg, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev, took part in the solemn meeting dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia,” reported the official representative of the MIA of Russia Irina Volk.
At the beginning of the event, the Minister presented to the personnel the new Chief of the University, Colonel of Police Aleksandr Travnikov, the decree on whose appointment was signed by the President of the Russian Federation on June 4, and noted that the entire biography of the new Chief of the University was connected with the northern capital. For twenty years of service in the internal affairs bodies, he passed through a long career of professional development and accumulated considerable experience. Vladimir Kolokoltsev wished Aleksandr Travnikov success in his work and handed him his service ID.
Then, addressing the audience, the Chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia emphasized that the meeting was taking place on the days of the celebration of the major anniversary: “Three centuries ago, it was here, on the banks of the Neva, that the Emperor Peter the Great decided to create the Russian Police. In preparation for the ceremonial events, the University actively participated in the history research carried out by the Ministry. I consider it to be one of the key elements in the patriotic education of cadets and listeners, the formation of a sense of pride and at the same time of a high responsibility.”
The Chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia stressed that the university's 20-year history was an integral part of the heroic chronicle of the Russian police: “Unique scientific schools have been established here, the latest educational technologies and programs are being applied. All the necessary conditions have been created for those who are ready to receive deep knowledge and self-improvement. Over the past years more than 30 thousand specialists have graduated from the University, about 200 of them - with a gold medal. I am proud that at one time I graduated from the educational institution, of which the University is the successor,” said Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
In conclusion, the Minister of Internal Affairs thanked the team for conscientious and fruitful work and awarded departmental awards to the most distinguished officers.
