Today in the MIA of Russia within the framework of the All-Russian action “We are Citizens of Russia!” a solemn ceremony of handing the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation to teenagers, who turned 14 years old, was held.
The event was attended by First Deputy-Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Police Colonel-General Aleksandr Gorovoy, Deputy Chief of the MIA of Russia GA for Migration Issues Police Major-General Valentina Kazakova, Chairman of the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Union of Youth” Pavel Krasnorutsky and Executive Director of the Russian Movement of School Students Denis Klebanov.
In his welcome speech, Aleksandr Gorovoy noted that the handing of passports to representatives of the younger generation on the eve of the Day of Russia became a good tradition.
“It's been 28 years since the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of the Russian Federation. Receiving the main document on the eve of an important state holiday is significant and important. Remember this day, which marks the beginning of a new stage in your life,” he said.
Winners of school olympiads, various children's creative competitions and sports tournaments took part in the ceremony. Aleksandr Gorovoy expressed gratitude to parents for worthy upbringing of the children.
Pavel Krasnorutsky reminded the young holders of new passports about the responsible attitude to the basic identity document and wished them becoming worthy citizens of their country.
