Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Tsendiin Nyamdorj discussed law enforcement cooperation between Russia and Mongolia

A working meeting between Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia General of the Police of Russia Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Minister of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia Tsendiin Nyamdorj took place today at the Russian MIA.

The Chief of the Russian MIA expressed satisfaction with the current status of development of the bilateral cooperation in law enforcement both in terms of everyday work communication and high-level meetings.

“The Cooperation Agreement signed last year between the Russian MIA and the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs of Mongolia enables us to intensify our joint efforts in combating illegal drug trafficking and illegal migration, as well as other transnational crimes,” noted Vladimir Kolokoltsev.

The Chief of the Russian Ministry reaffirmed that cross-border cooperation remains a top-priority area and emphasized the importance of timely communication between the law enforcement bodies of Russia and Mongolia located in the cross-border regions, including within investigations of transnational crimes.

The parties highly appreciated the efforts of the Russian-Mongolian task group in combating common criminal threats.

A special attention was paid to safety protection during the preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and observance of the rights and legal interests of fans during the coming tournament, including those arriving from Mongolia.

The agenda of the meeting also included staff training issues. This year, there will be 46 student places for Mongolian specialists in the Russian MIA universities within higher education programs. In addition, Mongolian specialists can take professional development courses in the Russian MIA educational institutions.

At the end of the meeting, Vladimir Kolokoltsev thanked Tsendiin Nyamdorj for the meaningful dialog and reaffirmed the readiness for further collaboration in a wide range of law enforcement issues.
