Today in Penza, Deputy-Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Major-General Vitaly Shulika, introduced to the personnel the new Chief of the Regional Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Colonel Sergei Shchetkin.
The event was attended by representatives of the legislative, judicial and executive authorities of the region, as well as chiefs of law enforcement bodies of the Penza Region.
Vitaly Shulika noted that Sergei Shchetkin had made a carrier from a criminal investigation operative to Deputy Chief of the MIA of Russia Administration for the Magadan Region, Chief of the Police, where he achieved positive results in all areas of operational and service activities.
“Sergei Mikhailovich enjoys deserved authority as a leader and a professional,” the Deputy Minister added. He wished the new chief of the Penza police success in his new position.
In his first speech to the staff, Sergei Shchetkin expressed gratitude for the trust shown by the appointment to the high position, and outlined the priority tasks.
Police Colonel Sergei Mikhailovich Shchetkin was born on January 21, 1971 in the Novosibirsk Region.
Serves in internal affairs bodies since November 1991. In 1999 he graduated from the Omsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, in 2009 – from the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
From September 2004 to September 2007, he headed the Division of Internal Affairs of the Kupinsky District in the Novosibirsk Region.
From June 2011 to April 2015 - Chief of the MIA of Russia Administration for the city of Magadan.
From April 2015 to May 2018 he served as Deputy Chief of the MIA of Russia Administration for the Magadan Region - Chief of police.
By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of May 3, 2018, he was appointed Chief of the MIA of Russia Administration for the Penza Region.
He was awarded with MIA of Russia medals “For Distinction in the Protection of Public Order”, “For Distinction in Service” of II and III class.
He is married and has a daughter.
