“The investigation unit of the Internal Affairs Administration for the South-Eastern Administrative District of the MIA of Russia GA for Moscow completed a preliminary investigation of a criminal case against two defendants accused of a robbery, who stole jewelry and other property for more than 80 million rubles,” reported the official representative of the MIA of Russia Irina Volk.
“In the course of the preliminary investigation into the criminal case it was established that two men followed the owner of the flat and penetrated after her into the apartment located in the Vernadsky Prospekt. Threatening the woman with knives, the offenders stole jewelry, as well as over 200 items of other property of the victim,” said Irina Volk.
On this fact a criminal case was initiated on the grounds of the crime provided for in Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The police detained two persons aged 39 and 47, against whom a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody was chosen by the court.
At present, the criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor has been sent to the Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow for consideration on the merits.
