MIA of Russia officers in Bryansk detained the suspect in a robbery attack on a cash collector

“As a result of operational search activities, the MIA of Russia Administration in the Bryansk Region detained a 19-year-old local resident suspected of a robbery attack on a cash-collector, as a result of which more than a million rubles were stolen,” said the official representative of the Russian MIA Irina Volk.

The crime was committed on the Stanke Dimitrov Avenue in Bryansk. During the attack, the offender used a bat, with which he inflicted bodily harm on the money carrier.

The Investigation Division of the MIA of Russia Administration for the city of Bryansk instituted criminal proceedings under part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

“The police identified the identity of the suspect, after which the 19-year-old student of one of the Bryansk technical colleges who had no previous criminal record was detained. According to preliminary information, he had been carefully planning the attack for several weeks, watching the actions of cash collectors and the routes of their movement,” said I. Volk.

The young man used the stolen money to buy a second-hand car of a prestigious model for 800,000 rubles, which was seized during the search.

At present, a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody has been chosen with respect to the defendant. Operational-investigative measures and investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident are being conducted.
