Last respects were paid to retired General of the Army Victor Erin in Moscow

Today, the management of the Russian MIA headed by Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation General of the Police Vladimir Kolokoltsev took part in the ceremony of paying last respects to retired General of the Army Victor Erin at the Troyekurovskoye Cemetery in Moscow.

Many current officers of the internal affairs bodies, former colleagues, ministers of internal affairs of the Russian Federation in different years, including Anatoly Kulikov, Sergey Stepashin and Vladimir Rushailo, came to pay last respect to the distinguished statesman who had headed the MIA of the Russian Federation in 1992–1995.

On behalf of the staff of the Russian MIA, Vladimir Kolokoltsev expressed heartfelt condolences to Victor Erin's family and friends.

“Today, we are paying last respects to the person whose life was an exemplar of loyalty to the duty and selfless love to the Fatherland. He also strove to achieve high results and was a true professional. Owing to his managerial abilities and human qualities, everything possible was done in order to protect people against criminals,” said the Chief of the Ministry.

The guests spoke of Victor Erin's openness, attentiveness and decisive authority among the personnel. During the period of his service, the General of the Army was granted high state awards, the main one of which is the Star of Hero of the Russian Federation.
