Men suspected of attempted sale of narcotics were detained by Russian MIA in Moscow

“Policemen of the Administration for Drug Control together with Special Battalion No. 2 on a special route of the Road Patrol Service of the Traffic Police of the Russian MIA General Administration for Moscow detained two natives of a Central Asian republic on Leningradskoye highway. The men are suspected of attempted distribution of heroin in an especially large amount,” said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.

“In the course of the personal search of the malefactors, the police found 9 packets with a powder that was proved to be heroin based on examination results. During the search at the place of residence of one of the suspects, policemen seized a similar substance weighing about 3 kilograms,” added Irina Volk.

The authorities initiated a criminal case based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Articles 30 and 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The suspects were remanded in custody.
