An investigator of the MIA of Russia Administration for Kemerovo completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 44-year-old local resident. She is charged with committing a crime under part 4 of Art. 159 of the Russian Criminal Code.
The investigation established that the defendant, being the director of a private nursing home for elderly and disabled patients, accepted single pensioners for maintenance. In the course of communication with them, she learned about the availability of funds on their current accounts. Subsequently, the defendant concluded donation agreements with the elderly patients or made notarial powers of attorney on their behalf, which gave her the right to dispose of all the money in the clients' bank accounts. For health reasons, citizens could not realize the consequences of that. As a result, the defendant stole the savings of 7 pensioners, causing a damage exceeding in total 1,500,000 rubles.
At present, the investigation of the criminal case is completed. The materials have been sent to court for examination. Sanctions of the charged article provide for 10 years of imprisonment as the maximum punishment.
