“The duty-unit of the MIA of Russia Administration for the city of Belgorod received information on an alarm signal from one of the guarded objects. The police immediately arrived at the indicated address,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
Officers of the police patrol service together with representatives of a private security company detained a 25-year-old resident of the Kursk Region, with two large bags full of jewelry and money.
“According to preliminary data, the offender entered the store through the basement, having sawn a hole in the panel ceiling. After packing the jewelry and cash to a total of about 10 million rubles in shopping bags, he tried to escape,” said Irina Volk.
At present, a criminal case has been initiated on this fact on the grounds of the crime provided for in part 3 of Article 30, paragraph “b” of part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
With respect to the suspect, a preventive measure in the form of remand in custody was chosen.
