MIA of Russia officers detained a suspect in drug trafficking in the Chelyabinsk Region

“Officers of the MIA of Russia GA for Drug Control in cooperation with colleagues from the MIA of Russia GA for the Chelyabinsk Region, as well as traffic inspectors of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the MIA GA for the Moscow Region detained a suspect in the sale of a synthetic narcotic drug weighing about 30 kilograms,” reported the MIA official representative Irina Volk.

In the course of the operative-search activities in the Sosnovsky District of the Chelyabinsk Region at the 25th kilometer of the Vakhrushevo-Dolgoderevenskoye highway, police stopped vehicle run by a 35-year-old man. In a cache located in the cabin of the vehicle, a synthetic narcotic drug weighing more than 25 kilograms was found. It was established that the man kept drugs with the purpose of selling it.

“In addition, in the suburbs of Chelyabinsk, police officers found several ‘caches’ in which the defendant had placed about 4 kilograms of a similar drug,” added Irina Volk.

A criminal case was initiated on the basis of the offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 30, Part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. With respect to the detainee, a preventive measure in the form of taking to custody was chosen.
