23 participants of an interregional criminal community engaged in the sale of synthetic drugs through the organization of caches were convicted in the Republic of Komi. The maximum penalty, imposed by the court on a number of community members, was 18 years of imprisonment.
The criminal community was interregional in nature and carried out its illegal activities in 16 cities located in 11 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. It included ten residents of Syktyvkar, Ukhta and the Sysolsky District of the Republic.
As established during the investigation, the criminal community was distinguished by a hierarchical structure. The roles and functions of its members were clearly defined, all the members of the group took measures of keeping secrecy. The sale of narcotic drugs in a particularly large amount was carried out in a non-contact way with the active use of Internet systems and electronic payment systems.
The investigation found that drugs were imported to Russia from China under the guise of dog food. Further, narcotic drugs were stored in Moscow, the Moscow Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, after which they were sent to other regions.
Within the framework of criminal cases investigation and operational and search activities police officers detained residents of not only the Komi Republic, but also of the Moscow Region and the Oryol Region and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, from which more than 46 kilograms of narcotic drugs were seized.
