“Officers of the MIA of Russia GA for Own Security and the FSB of Russia are carrying out activities within the framework of investigating a criminal case under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation initiated against Lieutenant-General Pyotr Grishin, Chief of the Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and his deputy, Police Colonel Oleg Mazur,” reported the MIA of Russia official representative Irina Volk.
The criminal case was initiated in connection with the revealed financial abuses in the course of public procurement of equipment for the needs of the MIA Forensic Center. Currently, searches are conducted in the offices of the above officials, as well as in their places of residence.
“Additionally, we inform that earlier Lieutenant-General Pyotr Grishin has filed a report on his resignation,” added Irina Volk.
