“Operatives of the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department together with colleagues from the Internal Affairs Administration of the North-Western Administrative District of the MIA of Russia GA for the city of Moscow detained two young guests of the city on suspicion of a robbery attack on a jewelry salon,” said the MIA official representative Irina Volk.
The police received a report on a robbery attack on one of the jewelry stores. As police officers established, late in the evening two unknown men in masks broke into the shop. Threatening employees of the salon with items similar to pistols, the offenders openly stole jewelry worth about 2 million rubles.
“During the operative-search activities in the town of Mozhaisk, Moscow Region, the suspects were detained, they turned to be 25 and 27-year-old young guests of the city. It was established that the attackers managed to sell the stolen items,” added Irina Volk.
The investigation of the IA Administration for the North-Western Administrative District of the MIA GA for the city of Moscow instituted criminal proceedings on the grounds of the crime provided for in Art. 162 of the Criminal Code. With regard to the suspects, a preventive measure in the form of taking to custody was chosen.
