“As a result of the operational and search activities, officers of the Administration for ES&CC of the MIA GA for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, together with colleagues from the FSB of Russia regional department and with the power support of the Rosgvardia troops in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, detained 6 men suspected of organizing illegal turnover of alcohol products,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
The police established that during the period from January 2016 to October 2017, the participants of the organized group carried out illegal production, storage and transportation of unmarked alcoholic products in the territory of Nizhny Novgorod and in the city of Dzerzhinsk for the purpose of sale.
As a result of a complex of operational and search activities and investigative actions, the Administration for ES&CC of the MIA GA for the Nizhny Novgorod Region together with investigators from the General Investigative Administration of the MIA GA for the Nizhny Novgorod Region and officers of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod Region seized more than 36,000 units of ready alcoholic products, over 12,000 liters of alcohol-containing liquid, about 40,000 empty bottles, equipment for the production of alcohol-containing beverages, as well as computers and electronic equipment.
In addition, money was seized in the amount of about 2.5 million rubles and 116.5 thousand US dollars, as well as 5 trucks and a diesel forklift.
Investigation unit of the GA for Investigation of the MIA GA for the Nizhny Novgorod Region initiated a criminal case under part 6 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The detainees are under house arrest.
