Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev held the first meeting of the new composition of the Interdepartmental Commission for the Implementation of the State Program to Assist the Voluntary Resettlement of Compatriots Living Abroad to the Russian Federation. The event took place in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The head of the department has reminded the audience that since last year the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia is the coordinator of the State program, in connection with which the Ministry is assigned with the authority to organize the activities of federal and regional executive bodies in this area. A corresponding Joint Action Plan for 2017-2019 has been approved.
Practical implementation of the State program began in 2007 in 12 pilot regions of the Russian Federation. At the moment there are already 60 pilot regions, and their list continues to expand. In the coming months, the reception of settlers will begin in the republics of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. At present, this program is included in the state program “Ensuring public order and combating crime” as the main task for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
In addition, work continues on improving the legal framework for voluntary resettlement. In particular, the provisions of the Program now apply to those who have arrived on an emergency basis and have received the refugee status. The list of documents necessary for obtaining a relevant certificate was adjusted, the amount of the allowance for their settlement was determined.
According to the statistical data cited by Vladimir Kolokoltsev, – “Over the past 10 years, almost 675,000 compatriots returned to Russia, of which 90,000 this year. For their support, more than 2 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget this year.”
