“In accordance with the decision of competent authorities of Cyprus, the extradition of a 65-year-old man accused of committing a crime under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation took place at the airport in Larnaca,” said the MIA official representative Irina Volk.
In the period from 2009 to 2015 in the city of Ufa, the suspect using his official position committed, as a part to an organized group, the theft of funds of a housing cooperative to a total of more than 300 million rubles.
After the court's decision to choose for him a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest, the defendant fled. In February 2017, on the basis of a request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Bashkortostan, he was put on the international wanted list and in March of the same year he was detained in Cyprus. Extradition from Cyprus to Russia took place.
