In the Sverdlovsk Region the Court passed a sentence against a sinker of one of the mining companies of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), found guilty of committing a crime under part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The court found that the offender, during a period of three months of work at a gold mine, collected quartz stones containing gold, and subsequently grinded them into sand and, by processing, obtained a native gravel gold weighing 206 grams, which he carried out from the mining company, thereby accomplishing the theft of that gold. By his illegal actions, he caused damage to the mining company for more than 470 thousand rubles.
The criminal activity of the defendant was suppressed by officers of the North-East Linear Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia's for transport, who during the pre-flight examination of the Yakutsk-Yekaterinburg flight found convolutions of gold sand and nuggets in the folding handle of his suitcase.
The Severouralsky city court of the Sverdlovsk region has fined the defendant for 100 thousand rubles. The verdict came into force.
