“Today the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Police of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev, took part in the meeting of heads of delegations at the 86^th session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization – Interpol with the member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee Meng Jianzhu,” reported the MIA official representative Irina Volk.

In his speech, the Chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia noted the high level of organization of the Interpol General Assembly, which is the most universal and effective platform for cooperation of law enforcement agencies of one hundred and ninety states.

“The unique mechanism of this organization makes it possible to search for and arrest criminals around the world, even in the absence of diplomatic relations between countries,” the Russian Minister said.

Vladimir Kolokoltsev stressed that Interpol, while representing a multilateral format of interaction, simultaneously promotes the development of bilateral contacts. A successful example here was the strategic partnership between Russia and China, confirmed by high results and a common stand with regard to key issues of the organization's activities.
