“Images of saints were discovered during the repair of the roof in a children's art school.
The duty unit of the MIA Division for the Tikhoretsky district received a message from workers of one of the local construction sites. The applicants explained that during the dismantling of the old ceilings in the children's art school in the village of Fastovetskaya there were discovered three icons.
Arriving police officers cordoned the site of the find and inspected the area using a service dog. According to preliminary data, the icons were hidden in the prerevolutionary times under the roof of the landlord's house, where the restored art school is now located. Perhaps, they were stolen from the local church about 120 years ago. Subsequently, the temple was destroyed, and the icons were lost.
At present, police officers are checking the fact,” said the MIA official representative Irina Volk.
