“Due to well-coordinated and prompt actions, policemen detained a citizen who planned to kidnap a person in order to get 60 million rubles from his relatives,” reported the Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
When getting investigative information, officers of the Criminal Investigation Administration of the MIA General Administration for the Rostov region revealed a planned kidnapping of a Tsimlyansk resident.
The officers took necessary measures and identified the alleged kidnapper and with the power support of Special Forces detained him. The kidnapper turned out to be a 54-year old local man. According to the police, the detainee planned to get around 60 million rubles for the kidnapped.
During the search at the suspect's home, criminal investigation officers found and seized traumatic and fire arms with ammunition, electric shockers, aerosol containers, handcuffs and black masks.
As established preliminary, the suspect prepared in advance the place to torture and to physically exterminate the person he planned to kidnap.
Based on the materials collected by the criminal investigation officers, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Rostov region initiated a criminal case under part 1 Articles 33 and 30, part 2 Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 1 Article 30, part 2 Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and part 3 Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
For the suspect, placement in custody was selected as a measure of restriction.
