“Several grocery stores in Krasnodar were attacked by robbers during the period from October 2016 to July 2017. In all the cases, unknown men wearing face masks invaded the stores and, menacing with an item looking like a pistol, stole the cash. The Investigation Administration of the Russian MIA Administration for Krasnodar initiated criminal cases on those facts based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” said the Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
As a result of the implemented investigation and search measures, criminal investigation officers obtained information that men suspected of three robberies of stores committed in Irkutsk could be in Kuban. The police established the offenders' location and their involvement in a series of robberies perpetrated in the territorial center. The suspects were detained. The court remanded them in custody.
“In the course of a search in their flat, policemen seized face masks, wigs, and items looking like a pistol and a grenade. Within the investigative operations, the police established the detainees' involvement in 15 robberies committed in Krasnodar during the period from October 2016 to July 2017. According to the preliminary estimates, the overall damage inflicted by their actions exceeded 200,000 rubles. The young men fully admitted their guilt,” added Irina Volk.
The police continue appropriate investigative and search measures to detect potential involvement of the suspects in similar crimes perpetrated in the Krasnodar Territory.
