During the visit of the Russian MIA delegation to the Republic of Tajikistan, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation General of the Police of the Russian Federation Vladimir Kolokoltsev met with Director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherkhon Salimzoda.
The Russian Minister informed the Tajik colleagues about the implementation of the Program for Assistance to the Drug Control Agency of Tajikistan in the area of combating illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, as well as about the progress of getting appropriate approvals from the Russian competent agencies of the draft Agreement between Tajikistan's Drug Control Agency and the Russian MIA on providing assistance to Tajikistan's Drug Control Agency in countering illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
The Chief of the Russian MIA emphasized the efficient collaboration of the two countries within the implementation of international anti-drug operation “Channel”.
Besides, the participants in the meeting discussed issues related to the opening of the Representative Office of Tajikistan's Drug Control Agency with the Russian MIA and further cooperation in staff training.
