“Officers of the Administration for Economic Security and Corruption Control of the Russian MIA General Administration for Moscow together with the Russian FSB detained a member of the gang suspected of organizing the illegal migration,” said the Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
The police established that the offenders had rented office rooms where they had executed and issued forged migration documents of foreigners' registration at addresses of non-residential buildings, warehouses, hotels and hostels. Over 200 foreign citizens applied to the malefactors every day.
Policemen of the Administration for Economic Security and Corruption Control of the Russian MIA General Administration for Moscow detained one of the gang members. He was a native of the Central Asia.
In the course of the searches, the police seized forged migration documents, computer hardware and office appliances, as well as other physical evidence of the suspects' unlawful activities.
The authorities initiated a criminal case on that fact based on essential elements of a crime stipulated by Article 322.1 “Organization of illegal migration” of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court remanded the suspect in custody.
Policemen currently perform a complex of measures aimed to identify, find and detain possible accomplices.
