"Officers of the General Administration of Criminal Investigation of MIA of Russia together with Administration of Criminal Investigation of the General Administration of MIA of the Russian Federation in Moscow region, Division of Criminal Investigation of Moscow Administration of MIA of Russia "Mytischinskoe", "Odintsovskoye", "Lyuberetskoye", suppressed activity of an organized group suspected of committing a series of robbery attacks on the storage sites of construction organizations with aim of stealing non-ferrous metals," said the official representative of MIA of Russia, Irina Volk.
Participants of the group looked for little protected objects and attacked them. Threatening with weapons, intruders tied the guards. Then, using some special equipment they stole the non-ferrous metals that were used in the construction. Further on, the stolen property was scraped to one of the capital's scrap non-ferrous metal reception points.
In January this year, participants of the group, broke into the warehouse site of one of the construction organizations in Mytischi, tied the guard and stole three coils of the electric cable with a total cost of about 5 million rubles. As a result, the guard died on the spot from a heart attack.
On this fact a criminal case was initiated on the basis of the crime provided for in Part 4 of Art. 162 of the Criminal Code.
During the operational search activities, policemen detained four members of the group suspected of committing this crime. They were natives of Transcaucasia and Central Asia aged 21 to 35 years. Against the detainees, the court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention.
During the searches, vehicles used in committing crimes, brass knuckles, phones and sim cards were found and seized.
According to available information, the defendants are involved in more than five episodes of criminal activity.
In the course of further activities, two buyers of stolen goods were detained, against whom a preventive measure was chosen in the form of a written undertakings not to leave the place.
Currently, operational search and investigative measures are being carried out, aimed to find additional episodes of unlawful activities of detainees.
