For communication on-line with their potential victims, malefactors deliberately rented three apartments ", said Russian MIA official representative Irina Volk.
The group consisted of a man from Orsha district and two women from Yoshkar-Ola. Their roles were assigned clearly. The alleged organizer of the group, registered on dating sites using women's names and began to chat with Russian-speaking foreigners. Then the accomplices talked to them on the phone and asked them to send money. After getting the money of the victims, the communication with them stopped.
During the conducted searches computer equipment, cell phones, data carriers and other items and documents evidencing the involvement of suspects in unlawful activities were seized from so-called "offices".
It was preliminary discovered that about 30 people became victims of malefactors - residents of Great Britain, Germany, Norway, Ireland, Lithuania and Latvia.
Investigation Administration of the MIA of Mari El Republic instituted criminal proceedings on the basis of the crime provided for in Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation against the detainees.
In order to document additional episodes of the activities of the organized group investigative activities are carried out.
