Victor I. Nilov

Chief of the General Administration for Traffic Safety, Police Lieutenant-General

Lieutenant-General of Police, Chief of the MIA General Administration for Traffic Safety, Victor I. Nilov was born on March 23, 1955 in Leningrad.

1977 - 1984 – Engineer at Division 3 of the Traffic Police of Internal Affairs of the Leningrad Region Executive Committee;

1984 - 1986 – Senior Engineer of Traffic Control Division of the Traffic Police of Internal Affairs of the Leningrad Region Executive Committee;

1986 - 1991 – Deputy Chief of the Traffic Police Administration for Driver Training and Examination – Internal Affairs General Administration of the Leningrad Region Executive Committee;

1991 – Deputy Chief of Subdivision 5 – Chief of the Unit Controlling Driver Training and Examination, Public Security Militia of the Internal Affairs General Administration of the Leningrad Region Executive Committee;

1991 - 1994 – Chief of Subdivision 1 of Public Security Militia of the Internal Affairs General Administration for St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region;

1994 - 1996 – Chief of Division 1 of Public Security Militia of the Internal Affairs General Administration for St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region;

1996 - 1998 – Chief of the Center for Teleautomatic Traffic Control of the Traffic Police of the Internal Affairs General Administration for St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region;

1998 - 2000 – Chief of Division 1 of Public Security Militia of the Internal Affairs General Administration for St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region;

2000 - 2002 – Deputy Chief of the Division for Registration and Examination Work, Autoinspection Service of the Traffic Police, Public Security Militia of the Internal Affairs General Administration for St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region;

2002 - 2003 – Deputy Chief of the Traffic Police, Public Security Militia of the Internal Affairs General Administration for St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region;

2003 - 2007 – Deputy Chief of the Administration – Chief of Division 3 of the Traffic Police of Internal Affairs for St.Petersburg and Leningrad Region;

2007 - 2008 – Assistant Chief of the Personnel Department of the Traffic Safety Administration of Internal Affairs;

2008 - 2009 – Chief of the Administration of Legal Control, Interdepartmental Interaction and International Cooperation of the Traffic Safety Department of the MIA of Russia;

2009 – Assistant Secretary of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation;

2009 - 2011 – Deputy Chief of the Traffic Safety Department of the MIA of Russia – Chief of the Administration of Analysis and Strategic Decision-Making Concerning Traffic Safety;

from 2011 to the present day – Chief of the MIA General Administration for Traffic Safety.

On May 14, 2012 a rank of Lieutenant-General of Police was assigned by Presidential Decree.
