Arkady A. Gostev

Deputy-Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel-General

Police Colonel-General Arkady A. Gostev was born in 1961 in the Shatsky District of the Ryazan Region. He started his service in the police in 1981 in the position of a militiaman of the 162 company of the Detached Battalion of Patrol and Inspection Service of the Internal Affairs Administration of the Soviet District Executive Committee, the City of Moscow. In 1987 he graduated with Distinction from the Moscow Militia Higher School of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs with specialization of Jurisprudence.

Arkady Aleksandrovich devoted himself to work in the investigation and made a career from Detective of the Investigation Division of the MIA Administration of the Soviet District Executive Committee, the City of Moscow, to Deputy Chief of the Division - Chief of the Division for investigating organized criminal activity of the MIA Administration in the Southern Administrative District of Moscow. In 2000 he graduated from the 1st Faculty of the MIA Academy of Management.

From 2001 to 2003 he worked in the MIA Administration for the Southern Administrative District of Moscow as Deputy Chief of the Administration - the Chief of Staff.

Since 2006, the Acting Head of the Administration for protection of public order of the MIA General Administration for the City of Moscow.

Since June 2010, he worked as Deputy Chief of the MIA General Administration for the City of Moscow - Chief of Staff.

After the reorganization of the General Administration for Moscow in April 2011 he was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief of the MIA General Administration for the City of Moscow.

On June 16, 2012 by Presidential Decree he was appointed to the position of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

On February 20, 2016 by Presidential Decree No.73 Gostev, Arkady Aleksandrovich was assigned a special rank of “Police Colonel-General”.

During the period of service in the MIA he received many awards, including medals “For Valor in Service”, “For Military Cooperation”, “For Faultless Service”, “For Distinguished Service in Defense of Public Order”, “In Commemoration of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow”.

He is married and has two sons and a daughter.
